Congressman Ami Bera, as promised, visited the Veterans Community Center on August 9th. The Center is located at 6921 Sylvan Rd, Citrus Heights, and is the site of the original Sylvan School described in this website. As an appreciative crowd gathered, Dr Bera spoke of the appreciation for sacrifice he had for our Veterans and how we need to lead by example. He then presented a check for 8.2% of his pay for the month of July, giving Veterans Golf Park Founder Jim Rounsavell a check for $1189! The funds will be used for continued upgrading of the building and facilities on the recently acquired Veterans Community Center. What a great gesture! See the photo below:
