Welcome to Veterans Community Center Citrus Heights, CA
Acquired in 2013 by founders Jim and Jeanne Rounsavell, the Veterans Community Center has become a gathering place for Veterans of all branches of the military in our community. The building at 6921 Sylvan Rd in Citrus Heights offers a place for all Vets, past and present, to come and gather among their peers. Together they can share and relive their various experiences during military life and just life in general.
The Center was secured by the Veterans Golf Park for Disabled Vets, a 501(c)3 California non-profit Corporation (#3412764), the vision of Jim Rounsavell and his wife Jeanne who are Veterans themselves.
The building is a bit of history in these parts, as it was originally the Sylvan Schoolhouse in the early early days of the Citrus Heights community, and later served as the Citrus Heights Community Center for over 40 years before Citrus Heights became a City and expanded into newer, more modern facilities. A plaque out front shows the historic value of the original schoolhouse.
Since the Rounsavells got the building in 2013, many changes have been done to the building and property here, with the most recent being a renovation inside done over the Holidays in 2021, just a few months ago. You can learn more about this by visiting our News/Current Events page.

Currently, we are open for coffee, snacks and viewing the Center Monday through Thursday from 9am until 1pm. We are planning to open soon on Friday as well. Currently Tuesdays and Thursdays we serve lunch for our Vets. Tuesdays is "Hot Dog" day where we serve up great Dogs and fixings (although that day is open season and you never know if the cooks that day will throw in some other yummy cuisine), and Thursdays vary with many different choices - but always a great lunch!
Since we are totally dependent on donations, we ask for a small donation if you want to eat, but if you are short this week or that don't let it stop you from coming, it's totally a voluntary ask.
Come for the coffee, come for the lunch, or simply come for the comradery. We have frequent visits by Veterans Organizations, so if you have an issue you need help with then we likely can assist.
